| 1982 | Anderson, Chad | Oct 1, 2008 at 07:40:39 | How's everyone? After graduation I enlisted in the USMC for only four years, which was my intent from the beginning. After an honorable discharge I hit the civilian workforce and lifestyle but quickly realized that I "missed" the military life. After a short time I enlisted in the US Army to pursue a career in Special Operations, after two wars, Special Forces, Ranger school, Combat Dive school, a Silver Star for valor in combat, a Soldiers Medal for heroism in Afghanistan as a result of a Special ops MC-130 plane crash in Afghanistan, multiple contacts with the enemy, I determined I had used up about 7 of my 9 lives and after 22 years decided to retire, my last job in the military was a Special Forces Company Sergeant Major. Immediately upon retirement I decided once again that I not only "missed" the military (See above, Ha, ha) but I missed the adventure as well and we still have a war to fight. So I currently advise US and coalition Special Operations troops in the conduct of unconventional warfare. So after all that retiring, I'm still carrying a rifle, still chasing the "bad guys". My beautiful wife doesn't like it much but has come to accept it after all these years. I have 3 wonderful sons, one of which just graduated from the USAF Academy and is currently training to be a pilot, fighters is what he hopes, his Mom and I hope its something smaller and slower and maybe will only fly in the US...My wife Victoria is an RN, we still live in Fayetteville, NC near Ft Bragg. She's from Atlanta so getting her to live North of the Mason-Dixie line is all but impossible. However, I bought a hunting camp and a little land in the UP (Iron County)and get up there a couple times a year. Hopefully world events will allow me to attend the next reunion. Stay safe.... |

Married Jim Colmer (LE '81) after graduation. Jim was in the Navy at the time, so we spent 2 years in San Diego where I worked in retail. Moved back to Michigan in '88. Worked in the non profit healthcare field while Jim attended MSU in the Environmental Engineering field. We now reside in Gaines, just south of Swartz Creek. We have 3 beautiful children, Hannah ('95), Wil ('98) and Ethan ('99). I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom now. Our main priority in life is raising 3 responsible, respectful little people. Loving life. Wondering where all those Attica elementary alums ended up. See you all in 2002! |

Seems really foggy in my mind, but that could have something to do with all the nutty things we did. Things like moving a 15 ft chicken from Lapeer East to Lapeer West one rainy day in October/November of 1981. Graduated from GMI with a BSME in 1987. I have been living in and around in Golden, Colorado for that past 14 years. The details of my life are inconquestional: Married 94 to Kelly Scheidt (class of 84), son Cole born in 1997, divorced, remarried to Elizabeth Collins in 03, daugther Hope born 04. Working for Level3 Communications as a Software Manager/Architect for 8 years. Skiing, Mountain Biking, and Motocross are my recent hobbies. Hope all is well especially with the old crew of Tim Haskel, Paul Coulter, Ed Coates, Mike Jefferson, Mike Hansen and Rob Hagerman. P.S. I told my son when I found out he was expecting, that I wasn't old enough to be. He laughed and said its too late. I have a beautiful granddaughter and thankfully I am not old because I couldn't keep up with her if I were. Obviously since the lat time I updated this my children have grown. My daughter (21)is in the Air Force and just re-enlisted for 6 more years. My son (23) is a wonderful daddy and works hard making a living in this awful economy. I am living in Grand Rapids and have a very rewarding career as a Nursing Home Administrator. I am dating a very wonderful man who lives on the east side of the state (Southfield). Long distance relationships have their perks!!!! I look forward to the 30 year reunion. I forgot we weren't having a 25th. I would like to hear from you so give me a shout! |

After graduation I attended Western Michigan University where I earned a Bachelors degree in Industrial Marketing with minors in Business and Accounting in 1986. I absolutely loved Kalamazoo so much I stayed and have been in Advertising Sales for the local paper for over 17 years. I am involoved with the Greater Kalamazoo Board of Realtors where I sit on a Public Relations committee and with the Kalamazoo Home Builders Association where I sit on the Parade of Homes Committee. Although I am still not very good at it I am on league teams for both softball and basketball. I have also become a pretty decent golfer; if only I'd been smart enough to play with Deron Hackney back in high school...Still single but involved with a great guy. Carol and I welcomed grandchild #1 (Breanna Jane Heaton)on the 27th of October 2007. Four boys and two girls: Donna Joan-21, Micheal Patrick-18, Heather Leigh-16, Austin Nicholas-9, Tristan Raymond-8, and Devin Andrew-6 . After school, did 4 in the Navy, 1 in the MI Nat Guard, 3 in the Army, 5 in the Reserves, 1 in the IN and NC Nat Guards, and returned to the Reserves. Been everywhere, done everything, STILL a Staff Sergeant(maybe I should stick with one). Was supposed to retire way back in 2002, but you gotta roll with the punches. Hope everyone's doing well. I worked as a cartographer and went back to school and received a Masters of Urban Planning from MSU in June 1992. From 1992 through 1997, I've worked as a planner in both the public and private sectors. My new adventure involves pursuit of a Masters degree from the Univeristy of Michigan School of Information in Ann Arbor. I received a prestigious position as a University Library Associate and will be working in the Hatcher Graduate Library while pursuing my degree on a full time basis. I also really enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking and mountain biking, but never seem to have enough time to devote to these activities. |

I have a bachelors from MSU in Interior Design I never used, a masters in Special Education from George Mason U in VA, and am currently getting another masters, this time in counseling from CMU. I've lived in Montana, Maryland, and Virginia, which is where I met my ex-husband, and I'm now back in Michigan teaching in Clio, which is north of Flint. I've worked doing anything from maintenance to home health care to being a nanny before giving in and going into teaching (I swore I'd never do it!). It would be great to hear from some old friends! And by the way, I absolutely REFUSE to think of us as old! (It's one of the advantages of having a sister 12 years older and a brother 8 years older- *they* may get old, but never me!) |

My wife, Pat, grew up in Kalamazoo. We have made our home here. I spent 8 years at Durametallic and the last 4 years here at Industrial Logic. I am a customer service representative. We have a great group to work with and we enjoy coming to work (most of the time). I am still singing. I sing in my church choir, with a quartet, Pat and I do sing-along concerts at area retirement centers, and I have just begun to do an Elvis show. I do not get back to Lapeer very often, so I would enjoy news from the old home town. Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2002. How did we ever get this old? 4/19/01 I just finished putting our old choir Pops Concerts record, from 1981, on CD. Please e-mail me if you are interested in getting a copy. We moved back to Michigan in '85 and I got divorced in '86. I married again in '89 and had my son Paul who is 12. I graduated from Detroit College of Business with my Associates Degree in Accounting in '92. Divorced again in '93(see a pattern). I just recently started working for Dice Corp. a company that creates an intergrated software package for security systems and accounting software. I train customers on how to use the accounting software package. I also married for the third time in Sept. of '98 to Daune Stone ( my boyfriend from 10th grade). Teaching high school sometimes really makes me feel elderly. I teach English, Yearbook and Newspaper at North Branch High School and am an advisor for the Student Council and SADD as well as help out with the Varsity Softball team. I write for three newspapers and two magazines and am working on my first book. I am married to Bill Lange, an NB graduate for the past 17 years and I'm a grandma FIVE times over (he has three children - Nathan, Crystal and Rebekah) and they have Alli, Abbi, Emily, Hunter and Kayla. Ok, now I really feel old. We travel, host foreign exchange students (Mexico and Brazil) and own our own business. This summer I'm going to Spain. I was also awarded a two week masters-credit trip to ASNE Journalism University in Reno, Nevada to learn more about First Amendment Rights.
