Barry, Seth | Nov 20, 2008 at 07:26:03 | After graduation I went to Michigan State and had a lot of fun. I was kicked out of MSU in my first year due to grades, but convinced them to let me stay after getting decent grades in classes over the summer. (One at LCC and one at Oakland University.) I then got back in to State and promptly had much more fun; therefore, I was kicked out again. After two years at State and 8 (free) credits, I moved back to Lapeer and worked in a machine shop for about a year. I then got a second job as a bartender and started going to school at Mott. I spent a year at Mott for 43 credits and transferred to Kettering in Flint. I spent three years at Kettering and graduated in March of 08' with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in biomedical applications. I am now working for a company that is based in Troy. I work on military vehicle drivetrains and heavy truck commercial drivetrains. Right now I am living in North Carolina for 6 months. After this I will back in Troy and then overseas in Europe for six months. I am engaged to Tarrah Martin class of 05'. We are getting married on July 24th, 2009. Get it. 7/24... 24/7 like all the time. You should see the rock, it's huge. She will graduate in 09' with a dual major in elementary education and special education (CI, LD, SXI) from SVSU. We are very happy and we are now both U of M fans...

If you're ever in the Ann Arbor area and want to hang out, let me know. kbelford@engin.umich.edu |
Bell, Emily | Dec 31, 2008 at 15:34:52 | Lets see... Not married, no kids! Just wanted to clearify that. I graduated from Lake Superior State University in Dec 2006, majored in Communications with a minor in Art. Came home, then left to go to Ohio. I did my internship near Cleveland and decided to stay. Now I live in Strongsville, Ohio and work for Shaker Heights City Schools. I am a secretary for the maintenance/facilities supervisor. I truly love it here. I've been attending lots of baseball and football games since I've been here its great! Still a Tigers fan though! I will be attending the University of Akron in the fall to continue my education and get a Masters degree in Communications. It seems as though everyone is doing well and moving on from good ole Lapeer. That is good to hear! :o) Well that is pretty much it. Till next time. Take care, and feel free to contact me if you are ever in the area! Live, Laugh, Love -Bell

best, katie | Dec 31, 2005 at 11:01:02 | well its been quite awhile......where do I begin. Who would have guessed that I would become a great inventor. Listen to this my fellow alumni, everyday you take advantage of that amazing adhesive on the back of those little yellow papers called post-its. it took me several tries to get that formula correct but i did indeed. also i invented the quick burning paper cigarettes that didnt take off as planned. luckily, my lover stephen hustles people at christmas time for money (dominating in the game of scene-it), so thats how we survive. any questions or complaint on that glue please contact me!

Butler, Tj | May 20, 2005 at 18:41:15 | Redefine the blue collar worker to green and exagerate the corporations underappreciation of those who sacrifice. Take the charge and jeers of an ignorant people, mixed with split, blood, mud, and tears and rub it in your face. Add in an exhausted spirit and a worn body; beaten, broken, bruised, and bleeding. Throw in some malice and a cup full of spite. A half a teaspoon of anger and a pinch of hate. A half a pound of pain and drain it all for pity. Welcome to my life, welcome to my world. Aren't we having fun yet?
Campanelli, Rachel | Jun 29, 2005 at 17:58:28 | Hey follow grads......Wow, it's great to come on here and see what everyone is up to. My life's been a bit crazy since graduation, moved around and done quite a bit but now I am happy to say that I am settled down in one spot and couldn't be happier. I am currently working full-time at Metropolitan Title Company in Troy. I've been dating Matthew Champine, from Lake Orion, for a little over a year now and we just got engaged on Christmas morning. We just bought a house in Romeo and moved in this past weekend. Kamara Elicia Blu (mine and Eli's lil girl) turned 3 in February; growing up so fast I can hardly believe it. She's beautiful and has quite the personality! She's got the perfect mixture of the 2 of us, going to be some trouble when she gets older! :) Would love to hear from anybody....campanellir@metropolitantitle.com http://www.myspace.com/16738323

Frick, Darrell | Sep 16, 2004 at 05:52:44 | Hello! Hello! Hello! well it has been a long time my fellow classmates; do you guys even remember me? I was that little blond haired screwball with a laugh you couldn't have forgotten. So, what shall I say about my ole so crazy life. Well, here goes nuttin, I graduated by H.S. by the grace of God. Dug a deep hole to hide from the world and was successful. Then, out of nowhere our gracious creator (that is God) pulled me out, set me on my feet and said, "your slate is clean, go forth and live life the way I intended you to." So, I have done just that. I was saved (in layman terms accepted Jesus) at a Christian camp in N.C. Stayed there a year. Moved on to Montreat College, a small Christian College in N.C. Last March went to LA, Cali; met an amazing Christian girl, who won my heart. So I am now moving to Virginia, where she is now residing and am pursuing marriage. I pray God is blessing each one of you richly and may you understand His great love for you this day. Miss all of you. Drop me an email at frickdl@montreat.edu. Chao

We're back in Michigan (still in the Lake Orion area) now and I had a beautiful little girl, Arianna Li, June 1st. |

(Kirkpatrick) Godwin, Katie | Feb 26, 2005 at 08:35:23 | Katie passed away on January 20, 2005. The following is her Valedictorian Address given on June 7, 2001. Life is a fragile chain of experiences held together by love. If there could be only one thing in life to learn, it would be to learn to love. There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer, no door that enough love will not open, no gulf that enough love will not bridge, and no sin that enough love will not redeem. It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook or how great the mistake, a sufficient realization of love will not redeem. If only you can love enough, you will be the happiest and most powerful person in the world. Judge, forgive, and love by the same measuring stick you want others to judge, forgive, and love you. This life is the only one you are given by God who has put within you the power, the ability and knowledge to realize your full potential and reach your true destiny. Replace any weakness with positives. Take life's broken pieces and let them go. Surrender them to God and recreate your dreams! Never measure the future by your past. Begin each day by focusing on all that is good. Take responsibility for your actions, never make excuses or blame others. Determine your tomorrows by the choices you make today. Remove emotions such as resentment, revenge, envy, and prejudice from your heart and soul, for liffe is just too short. Be a person of honor and integrity, always being careful never to hurt the heart of another. Live in peace and harmony with the earth and all that is in it. Do your part in helping those less fortunate. Walk hand in hand with those of less talent, follow those of more knowledge when it is truth. Be an equal with those who are different. Stand for what you belive in. Be humble in your successes, share in the praises and joy of others. YOu have gifts that have never been opened, and personal journeys waiting to be explored. Begin now, this moment to open, use, and share these gifts given to you by God. In her brief life Katie touched the lives of many. We will all miss the "Katie Smile".

Green, Garry | Jan 25, 2005 at 07:51:23 | Greetings to all, for those of you who read my last post an explanation is in order. I didn.t write the last post, a friend of mine did and it was intended as a joke, it was the complete opposite of everything that someone would expect me to say. Now down to business, for these past few years I have spent my time at UM-Flint. I will have my major finished this semester and my minor probably this spring, hopefully I.ll be teaching soon. I plan to teach earth science and could teach biology also. I joined the wind symphony at UM-Flint a few semesters ago for fun and I.m still playing (trumpet, this makes 11 years). That's about all I can think of at the moment. E-mail me if you want otherwise maybe I.ll run into you some time in this small world of ours.

We are enjoying our first 80* Christmas on the beach. |
Hanson, Jennifer | Dec 31, 2005 at 11:00:09 | I didn't know what I wanted to do after high school, but then I realized I really liked science. I decided to enroll at Michigan State and major in physics. I was taking classes in the cyclotron studying atomic particles and what not. Things quickly got weird. I was working in the lab late one night When my eyes beheld an eerie sight. For my monster from his slab began to rise And suddenly to my surprise He did the mash. He did the monster mash. The monster mash. It was a graveyard smash. He did the mash. It caught on in a flash. He did the mash. He did the monster mash. From my laboratory in the castle east. To the master bedroom where the vampires feast. The ghouls all came from their humble abodes. To get a jolt from my electrodes. They did the mash. They did the monster mash. The monster mash. If you see this monster anywhere please contact me post haste.
(Qualman) Hanton, Jackie | Dec 23, 2005 at 11:21:15 | It's been great catching up on so many people's profiles, so much has happend. I've been married for 5 months now, it's GREAT! We have a home in Port Huron and plan on buying property to build on soon, I can't go without my horses! Until then, our Great Dane puppy, Zoe, keeps us on our toes at 90+ lbs as a 7month old it can be hard to keep up. There's no plans for kids too soon, we love traveling and having fun for now. Luckily, I've found my dream career at Citizens First in the Trust Department, wealth management is a very exciting/demanding field. Currently, I'm working on my CTFA and take care of 33 clients. Things truely couldn't be better. Have a great 2006!
Hervey, Ryan | May 10, 2007 at 22:39:35 | I graduated from Kettering University in 2005 with a degree in mechanical engineering. During college I co-oped at Key Safety Systems designing safety restraint airbags for automobiles. I'm in charge of all Toyota sunroof and outside handle sales for all of North America, currently managing about $115 Million in annual sales.
Hoppe, Nicholas | Oct 18, 2005 at 07:16:49 | Just recently finished my B.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University. I recently moved to NYC to try my hand at finding a job here. So far, I don't like the big city so I'll probably be moving to Hawaii to be a surf bum pretty soon. It seems so out of context.
Hulett, Breanne | Sep 23, 2006 at 07:23:30 | I must have missed the 5-year reunion. I hope everyone is doing well. But, aren't we all, according to our blogs? I am living in beautiful, somewhat inaccessible, and often-cut-off-from-the-world Traverse City. Business admin. is my line of study now, and I've promised myself I'd pull through on this one. I thought Bill Kinzer would find that funny, since he used to chuckle at my "Profit is theft" bumper sticker. Funny how things change. Well, maybe I'll get an invite for our 10th. Take care everybody!

I was a psych major but quickly realized that wasn't something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I haven't really talked to many people since school got out, but I would love to. | 2001 | Larkin, Josh | Feb 19, 2007 at 17:45:11 | I was just thinking about you all, and thought I would send you an update on what is going on with me. Sorry it has taken me so long to get in touch, even though I'm not sure how many people still read this. I am in Germany now. I was in Las Vegas for 3 1/2 years, and ended up hating it there, despite what my previous blog said. I had a pretty tough time there, but I'm alive. I then went to Kunsan AB, South Korea. I am happy to be done with that (I spent a year there doing a short overseas tour assignment). Though a valuable experience, I don't think it will be a place I should want to return. Germany, however, is a different story. I love it here. I am currently learning the language (brushing up on my Spanish that is more than a little rusty as well), making friends, seeing the sights (went to Paris after New Years, great place), loving the food, drink, and driving, though not all at the same time :) Promise Work here is great. I like most of the people I work with, it is a new experience working where I work, but I love a good challenge, and love the new (and different) workload. It's good seeing another side of my job. They are sending me through ALS (Airman Leadership School) starting this week. I both nervous and optimistic, looking forward to starting it, and becoming apart of the NCO Corps, as it is LONG overdue. But that's another story. I also have started school again, doing very well. I am working towards a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics. I am actually able to take this degree all the way to a Doc. so, we will see where it goes. It feels good to be back in school, even if half my credits are already done just because of my job alone. That's everything in a nutshell. I'd like to hear how you all are doing. I am glad to hear how well most of you are doing, and truely wish you all the best. I have my own 3 story duplex to myself here in Germany, with a lot of spare beds, if you ever want to visit. I will also be home in May for Steve Potter and Katie Best's wedding if you would like to get together. Either way, hit me up: joshua.larkin@gmail.com |
Lindquist, Mike | Mar 13, 2005 at 12:13:54 | I have just to finish my final copy of my thesis and I will be done with my Mechanical Engineering Bachelors at Kettering University. I will be starting my Masters in April. I was in Europe from October to December. It was kick arse... (can we swear on this thing?) Anyhow, I went to 13 different countries. Favorite place was Switzerland where my friends and I went paraglinding and ice climbing in the Alps. Everything is going well for me. Good luck with what your doing!
Martus, Tyler | Oct 21, 2005 at 10:12:43 | I have just graduated with honors from Central Michigan University in Aug with a degree in accounting. | 2001 | Melkerson, Lyle | 3/22/2003 at 7:12:43 PM | I'm still a lazy bastard, but now I'm a lazy bastard sophemore at MSU "studying" physiology. I think I've managed to get a research position for this summer (the olfactory senses of moths are fun to play with). Wind tunnels, pheremones, and a moving yellow and white striped ground... god that's dumb.
mikulski, tom | 12/11/2002 at 4:18:02 PM | I am at Michigan State University studying alot of science and finishing up my third semester.I've got a wicked house next year with plenty of space for people to crash. | 2001 | Niederhauser, Joe | Dec 7, 2005 at 07:01:33 | This past April, I graduated from the University of Michigan and got my BS is biology. I love that I don't have any exams to study for right now, but I miss school a lot. I can't wait to back to there for my masters or my PhD. I am not sure when that'll be but not for at least a couple of years. In the meantime I have been working at TCF Bank as a lead teller to pay the bills. As for my career, I am planning on doing academic research and teaching in the field of Ornithology. Currently I am looking to gain as much experience as possible working as a research assistant this spring and summer and perhaps throughout next fall and winter. I am in the process of applying to a horde of opportunities for this spring and I am awaiting word from the many professors and grad students that need assistance with their research. Thats all from me. I wish everyone all the luck in the world in what you all are pursuing and hope that I can accomplish all that yearn for.
(Mapley) Norton, Tenille | Apr 18, 2006 at 00:02:19 | We finally had our daughter! Isabella Paige Norton was born on April 9th, 2006. She weighed 8lbs 14oz and was 19 and half inches long. She's gorgeous, of course every parent will say that about their child. Isaac (our two year old) is doing great with her. He's handling the adjustment very well. Looks like Doug and I might be moving soon... to Elba, not far. Brand new house still being finished but it'll be a nice change from our Dryden fixer upper. Hope everyone is doing well!
(Zeeman) Olejniczak, Missy | Sep 21, 2005 at 13:15:31 | Hi everyone! I have had a great life after high school (although I miss it!). I got married in February 2005 to Joe Olejniczak. We bought a house in Metamora and are expecting a baby on Christmas Day! Ethan is doing very well and is VERY excited about being a big brother. I am currently coaching the freshmen girls basketball team at East. It is a lot of fun. I am also an assistant coach for varsity softball. I guess I just can't get enough!! Well I hope everyone is doing well! I can't wait to see people and catch up. Good Luck everyone! Hope to see you soon!
Peasley, Courtney | 12/1/2002 at 2:01:06 PM | Wow! College life sure is great! I absolutely love it here at Saginaw Valley! My major is in Elementary Educatoin and I cannot wait to become a teacher, but until then, I am going to savor every moment that I have here with all of my new friends. It's just incredible how people from such different worlds can come together in the same place and be the greatest of friends. I think that what I love the most is the fact that I can be here as much as I want, and if I get tired of being here, I can go home to a completely different world! The best, though, is when you get to introduce your frineds from college to your family and friends from back home and when you get to meet theirs! I miss you and wish you the best of luck in pursuing your dreams!
Prill, Mary | 10/22/2003 at 6:03:48 PM | Hey everyone, don't know if anybody remembers me but I'll drop a few lines anyway. I'm now a junior at Madonna University in Livonia and my major is psychology with a mental health concentration. After getting my BS, I plan on going to graduate school to become a clinical psychologist working with children and adolescents. It's funny how you meet all these people from different areas and become best friends with them. I am really happy with my life and all those that are in it that helped to make a difference in all that i do.

Robles, Christopher | 1/30/2003 at 4:11:37 PM | Hey all. Everyone sounds like they are having a great time with their new-found post-high school lives. As for me...I just transferd from Kalamazoo College to Emmanuel college in the heart of Boston. I am right in midst of all of the action here in downtown. The East Coast is wicked awesome and holds so much history that I'm in awe every time that I leave my place. I am double majoring in Biology and Psychology and am minoring in Spanish. I am also in the middle of applying to study at Oxford University in England (we'll see how that goes). I am a starter on the Men's Varsity Volleyball team (the libero, if you know volleyball) so that takes up a lot of my time. All the guys are chill. Life is good. Take care. Chris.
(House) Rosema, Jacqulyn | May 10, 2009 at 22:15:39 | I have been married 4 years now to Chris (met at UofM). We're in Huntsville, Alabama where he works for the army as an aerospace engineer. I taught 7th grade math for a year and a half. The Lord did quite a work in me during that time, in which my priorities turned to my relationship with Him and to fulfilling my role as a wife. (which has given me great delight) 7 more weeks until our first born (son) is expected to arrive. :) I am very humbled to be given the opportunity to raise a child in the Lord.

I live in Kansas City, MO (well, roughly) with my husband of a year and a half, Drew. After spending 6 years at Michigan State and getting my B.A. in Spanish and M.A. in Spanish Linguistics I have taken to teaching (guess what... | 2001 | Schlund, Lindsey | Aug 7, 2007 at 08:27:14 | Hello everybody, looks like you're all doing great! I am about to get my elementary education degree from UM Flint, with a Language Arts major and a Spanish minor. I'm currently taking my last class there (will be done mid August) and am looking for teaching jobs right now. I'm trying my best not to move out of state, although that seems to be the trend for anyone looking for teaching jobs, as there aren't many here. I still live in Lapeer, am not married and have no kids. I was at MSU for 3 years then decided to transfer to get my teaching degree. Congratulations to all of you that are married and to anyone that has a family! I'm on myspace if anyone uses that, www.myspace.com/bailey9097...nice to see what everyone's been doing since we left East! |

Smirnes, Nicolette | Sep 25, 2007 at 21:35:50 | I graduated from college in 2005 with my nursing degree and moved to South Florida for a change. After about a year, I hated it and moved back to Michigan. 5 months after returning my now fiancee found a job as a high school history teacher in southern Maryland and after being long distance for 4 years, I decided to move out with him. We are living in an apartment and paying way too much to live so we are trying to find a happy medium for next summer. Michigan isn't looking hopeful for teaching jobs. We are getting married 8-8-08 and I couldn't be happier
