| 2002 | Adams, Jeremy | Apr 4, 2008 at 05:41:22 | well, recently i took on employment with victory packaging as a designer/lab technician...my boss tells me that i have a lot of potential in this line of work and that there is infinite possiblities for advancement within the company as long as i want the responsiblity that comes with each promotion. im in the process of buying a house in columbiaville right now, although there have been a couple minor problems with the property. i was trying to buy 12 acres and now because of a clerical error, i will most likely end up with 28 acres and two houses for the same price. im still with my girlfriend- scratch that, fiance now...we are planning to get married this summer. other than that, nothing else new going on im my life. |

Anyways for those of you who didnt know I havent always lied in Lapeer I am originally from Ontonagon Michigan.Its in the U.P. about 45 miles west of Michigan Tech. Anways I went to elementary up there. I had always had a crush on a certain guy and all of my friends did too. I found him on myspace this summer and me and the kids are moving to Louisiana to start a life down there. Jobs are sparce here in Michigan and Im sick of this snow and cold weather. I spent my Spring 2005 semester at the Technical University of Budapest (BSM), a mathematics program founded by Laszlo Babai. Currently I'm taking my 22nd, 23rd, and 24th semester courses in math beyond calculus--algebraic number theory, algebraic topology, and graph theory. I'm also taking intro to theoretical physics, drawing, and african american history. I was awarded a full fellowship for study at an intensive program for algebra and number theory in Europe (http://www.albion.edu/ac_news/AlbionExplorations2005/giodimatteo.asp), and am the only student from The United States to be accepted (9 people come from india, 5 from China, and a bunch from other places all over); starting in Fall 2006, I will be a student at Universita di Padova, Italy (20 minutes outside Venezia), and in Fall 2007 I will be finishing my masters thesis at U. Paris-sud. I hope to learn enough French to finish my Ph.D. in Paris, as it is the haven for modern algebraic geometry, ring theory, and algebra in general. I will be living in the San Francisco bay area this summer, from May 20 to August 20, so if anyone is in the area, drop a line. I have been teaching part-time for the last two years: AP Chemistry II, and Web Authoring. However, due to budget cuts, AP Chemistry II, will only be offered at West for the 2004-05 school year. I will be teaching one semester of WebAuthoring and one semester of Basic Programming. I will miss my Chem II class. I have had the honor of working with some very talented and dedicated teachers. I have to say that life is going awesome for me. I met the man of my dreams, Matt Marble, in November of 2005 and we were married April 14, 2007. We moved into a great house in July and we are now expecting a baby! I am due March 9th so I am currently experiencing the joys of morning sickness and heartburn. But, it will all be worth it when I see our baby. I have the privilege of staying at home now that Farmer Jack has closed. It truly was a blessing in disguise. I often think about the times at Lapeer East and I still often think about the friends I made there. I am sorry I have not kept in touch. If anyone would like, write me anytime. After 40 years of service you'd think the hull would fall right out from under it. The USS Enterprise is currently stationed in Norfolk, Virginia therefore so am I. I'm currently finishing my qualification of Supervisory Watch and have qualified Engineering Laboratory Technician. Basically I take water, run it through a machine and it spits out info. My advice is if you make it as far as Virgina just keep truckin cuz I'll tell ya Florida is a whole lot nicer anytime of year. O yeah.. im in the the NAVY or something close to what it use to be. |

Unlike the rest of you who have been graduating from college, my life has taken me down some different paths. Most of you know that I joined the Army after my Freshman year at UofM-Flint. I got married went to Iraq, Got divorsed and am now in Afghanistan. I was in the infentry, now I am a medic. Things change really fast in the real world, one moment it is fast cars and fast women that seem to be important to you, and the next seems like you are dusting yourself off and realizing the important things in life really do come from inside you. I have had a few brushes with death in the last few months, saved a couple lives, and lost a brother in arms. I congradulate each and every one of you who have graduated from college or are on their way to finishing, it is a great step and something to be proud of, but please try to remember, without love in your life you can own everything and still have nothing.
