
Lapeer East High School (LEHS) is one of two high schools in the Lapeer Community School District. It is located on the east side of Lapeer at
933 South Saginaw Street (43.0375 degreeslatitude, -83.302 degrees longitude). It opened in January of 1976 without a senior class. Its firstgraduating class was in 1977.
Lapeer East's first principal, Mr. Barrie Fell, was instrumental in helping to formulate Lapeer East's high academic standards. In March of 1985 LEHS was nationally recognized as an Exemplary Michigan Secondary School, largely through the effort of Mr. Fell and the LEHS Professional and Support Staff. Lapeer East High School is accredited by North Central. The LEHS classroom instructors are currently involved in the ongoing North Central re-accredition process.
The school colors are Green and Gold. The school mascot is the eagle.
