___Membership in NHS is not competitive, and involves meeting the minimum requirements that the society puts forward. Firstly, a potential member must be a Junior or Senior, and have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. Additionally, the prospective member must have attended LEHS for at least one semester. In the fall of the year, applications are distributed to all eligible students, and a committee meets to determine which applications warrant membership. All applicants who are accepted attend an evening ceremony where they are inducted into the society. After the induction, all candidates are considered full members, and take on the benefits and responsibilities as such. After becoming a member, inductees are expected to continue the things that allowed them membership. All members are expected to maintain a 3.00 GPA, attend all NHS meetings and functions, and complete a mandatory amount of service for the school, community, and the society itself. NHS members are also expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is becoming to the society at all times.

If you have received notification that you are eligible for membership download the Membership Application (doc) , complete it and either give it to Mr. Machesney or send it to him as an e-mail attachment.
