The ice hockey team has been a part of Lapeer East athletics ever since the school opened. The sixteen to twenty members of the varsity squad is made up of students from grades 9-11.
Until the 2000-01 season, the hockey team practiced and played all of its games at out of town ice rinks. Now the Eagles' hockey team calls the Lapeer Polar Palace "home" for all practices and most games.
