Basic II

Syllabus

2003-2004

This year students will build upon skills learned during previous courses. Review of basic math skills will continue. Calculators will be used extensively during this course. It is recommended that students have their own calculators. Calculators will be available in class if needed. No calculators will be able to be taken from the classroom since other students may need to use them during the day.

The following topics will be introduced in during this course.

Introduction to Geometry

Area

Surface Area and Volume

Ratios, Proportions, and Percent

Probability

Functions and Graphs

Solving Two-Step Equations

Instruction will be given daily. It is expected that students will actively participate in their educational opportunities. Each day there will be opportunities for review, introduction of new material, and daily practive. Assignments will be started in class. Any work not completed during class time will become homework. If the student does not understand the assignment they can call me at 6647204 or they can get help from any other reliable source. Work is due in class the day after it is assigned.
