FRENCH III COURSE SYLLABUS

TEXTBOOK: Discovering French; Blanc: McDougal Littel : 1994

BASIC OVERVIEW: This course will cover approximately 7 units during this school year. Withing each chapter, there are individual lessons or lecons. Usually at the completion of each lesson there will be at least one quiz, perhaps more. At the end of each unit, there will be a unit test. Each unit test will contain information from that unit as well as information from previous units. There will also be some oral testing throughout each unit. Projects will supplemet the curriculum whenever applicable. There will be a comprehensive semester and final exam.

Unit 4 Les loisirs et les spectacles

Function:	Planning one's free time
	Talking about your friens and your neighborhood
	Discussing relations with others
	Reading and writing about daily events
	Narrating what happened

Unit 5 Les sports et la vie quotidienne

Function:	Discussing Sports
	Discussing fitness and health
	Talking about one's daily activities
	Narrating past activities

Unit 6 Chez nous

Function:	Describing where you live
	Renting an apartment or house
	Talking about the past

Unit 7 Soyez à la mode

Function:	Talking about clothes
	Shopping for clothes
	Comparing people and things
	Talking about how things are done

Unit 8 Bonnes vacances

Function:	Discussing summer vacations
	Making travel arrangements
	Talking about what you would do under various circumstances
	Making future plans
	Talking about what one would do under certain circumstances
