Materials (The following must be brought to class everyday.)

Precalculus (Chapters P-6 will be completed this year)

You will be required to use these on a daily basis.

You will use your planner (pass page) to leave this class.

Your name must appear on the ORIGINAL label to leave class.

Red pens will be used for corrections only.

Use of red in any other way will result in a zero.

Evaluation Criteria

Assignments 15%

Daily Quizzes 20%

Weekly Quizzes 25%

Tests 40%

Assignments will be given daily.

Assignments not completed in class will be homework.

Expect homework every night.

We will correct assignments in class.

You will be graded on completeness and effort.

Corrections must be made on all assignments.

Daily quizzes are unannounced.

Daily quizzes usually cover one or two concepts and are very short.

Corrections are encouraged on daily quizzes to learn from your mistakes.

Corrections will be done during class.

You should expect one or two daily quizzes per week.

Weekly quizzes are announced.

Weekly quizzes are longer and cover many concepts.

Expect at least one weekly quiz per chapter.

Tests will be given at the end of every chapter.

Will be offered on a VERY limited basis, so take advantage of it when you can.


Miscellaneous

Notebooks are not required for this class, but are highly recommended.

Books are not to be used to store papers in.

Assignments, quizzes, and tests should be kept for the entire semester.

You must have an admission slip to return to class.

You are responsible for obtaining any missed assignments

Unexcused absences will result in a zero for ALL work on the day(s) absent.

Students who are caught cheating will receive a zero on the assignment/quiz/test.

Parents will be notified by telephone.

Administration may also be involved; which could result in suspension.

Throughout the school year we may be viewing two movies that I feel are important to motivating students to work their hardest no matter what the situation. The movies are October Sky and Stand and Deliver; these are both based on true stories.
