Materials (The following must be brought to class everyday.)

Integrated Mathematics Book 1 (Units 1-8 will be completed this year)

You will be required to use these on a daily basis.

You will use your planner (pass page) to leave this class.

Your name must appear on the ORIGINAL label to leave class.

Must be in a binder of at least 1 inch.

Organization is required (either by unit or by date).

Red pens will be used for corrections only.

Use of red in any other way will result in a zero.

Evaluation Criteria

Assignments 15%

Notebooks 15%

Daily Quizzes 15%

Weekly Quizzes 20%

Tests 35%

Assignments will be given daily.

Assignments will consist of a mini assignment, notes, and an assignment.

Assignments not completed in class will be homework.

Expect homework at least 3 times a week.

We will correct assignments in class.

You will be graded on completeness and effort.

Corrections must be made on all assignments.

You must have dividers with labels.

Notebook quizzes will be given.

Notebooks will be collected and graded at the end of every unit.

Daily quizzes are unannounced.

Daily quizzes usually cover one or two concepts and are very short.

Corrections are encouraged on daily quizzes to learn from your mistakes.

Corrections will be done during class.

You should expect one or two daily quizzes per week.

Weekly quizzes are announced.

Weekly quizzes are longer and cover many concepts.

Expect at least on weekly quiz per unit.

Tests will be given at the end of every unit.

Will be offered on a VERY limited basis, so take advantage of it when you can.

Miscellaneous

You must have an admission slip to return to class.

Unexcused absences will result in a zero for the day(s) absent.

You are responsible for obtaining any missed assignments.

Students who are caught cheating will receive a zero on the assignment/quiz/test.

Parents will be notified by telephone.

Throughout the school year we may be viewing two movies that I feel are important to motivating students to work their hardest no matter what the situation. The movies are October Sky and Stand and Deliver; these are both based on true stories.
